This note is very late in coming! We were
at a wedding last Saturday night and their tent didn’t even come
close to the beautiful tent you gave us! Every time I look at the wedding
photos the first thing I notice & remember is how awesome the lining
was. And to think I was worried about that. It was really so lovely. So
many friends told me how beautiful the tent & lining was-and that’s
not usually what the guests comment about. Or…about Porta-Potties!
People went nuts over them. It was the talk on the “Main Line”.
So thank you both so very much for the fabulous tent and the high-tech
computer plans. I could not have asked for anything better to compliment
my gardens.

The verdict is in! It should come as no surprise
that this year’s Commencement was described by more than one as
the “biggest and most impressive yet.” This is due in no small
measure to the extensive contribution by Anthony Rental & Sales.
The new Commerce and Finance reception, held under the largest tent yet
placed on our campus, was judges “beautiful” by a “very
particular” faculty. Should this event grow in both size and complexity
as I expect it will, your expertise with the inventory of “big”
tents will become more valuable to us in the future.
Among the more “routine” tasks, your delivery of 5,000 chairs,
as well as a multitude of auxiliary tents, canopies, and tables was the
“smoothest yet” despite our very specific scheduling requirements.
Further, the new fencing you suggested for crowd control in the stadium
not only worked well, but attracted many compliments, just as we had hoped.
More important to me personally, however, were your willingness to acquire
the equipment we needed rather than subcontract through others, your constant
personal supervision of this complex undertaking, and the resulting speed
with which you responded to our changing needs whether from work or home.
Your energetic and reassuring dedication which I rarely experience these
days, and appreciate more than I can possibly convey.
Please extend my personal thanks to your staff who seemed to be everywhere
during our week long preparation, and accept my heartfelt congratulations,
on behalf of our University community, for a magnificent job well done.

In a routine year, I might well take a little
longer to express my appreciation for your dependable assistance with
our annual Commencement ceremony. Because there was nothing routine about
your efforts this year, however, I have put this letter at the top of
my priority list.
For the past three years, smooth delivery of 5,000 chairs, as well as
a multitude of auxiliary tents, canopies, and tables, despite our very
specific scheduling requirements, has become the norm. Likewise, flawless
installation of a 20,000 square foot reception tent for the College of
Commerce and Finance is now routine. Chief among what I appreciate most
about working with you are your willingness to acquire whatever equipment
we need rather than subcontract through others, and to personally supervise
this complex undertaking. Although I never doubted the sincerity of your
frequent refrain, “whatever you need,” it’s only now
that I fully appreciate the meaning of your offer.
This year, after a violent thunderstorm overturned the stadium stage,
destroyed its canopy, and knocked over most of the remaining equipment
that had been placed on campus, it was from you that I received the first
call. Had it not been for your staff monitoring our installation, your
ability to quickly assemble personnel who worked from late Saturday night
well into the early morning hours of Sunday, and your capacity to replace
damaged inventory on the spot, it may well have been necessary to move
commencement exercises indoors, which would have required turning away
thousand of assembled guests.
Yours is an energetic and reassuring dedication which I have rarely experienced,
and appreciate more than I can convey. This year was indeed an unreasonable
test, one which I hope to never repeat, but one to which you were more
than equal nonetheless. On behalf of the President of the University,
I ask that you extend our personal thanks to your staff especially all
those who came to our midnight rescue. Please accept my heartfelt congratulations
for an extraordinary contribution to Villanova University, one for which
we are truly indebted.
